Plastiques Gagnon of St-Jean-Port-Joli acquired Quéplast Injection in March 2021. The latter, born from a partnership with Plastiques Gagnon in 1997, is located in St-Romuald and also works in the manufacturing of plastic parts by injection. The integration of Quéplast Injection into the Plastiques Gagnon family was natural given that the two companies share the same values and the same standards of quality and service.
This acquisition propels Plastiques Gagnon to the top ranks of Quebec’s producers of small and medium-tonnage injection molding parts, with 56 presses ranging from 20 to 720 tons. The company will now be able to rely on an experienced team of more than 230 employees. This expansion gives it access to new markets, including electronics and the medical sector. Quéplast Injection has an ISO 7 clean room and specializes in manufacturing small parts using micro-injection processes, meeting dimensional tolerances of +/- 9 microns.
The primary objective of this first acquisition is to increase production capacity, a key component of Plastiques Gagnon’s growth plan. The Quéplast Injection plant is significantly increasing its production capacity while maintaining the unparalleled quality of its service to existing customers. Indeed, its production area is being doubled and six new injection molding machines are being added. The plant’s location in St-Romuald also gives Plastiques Gagnon access to a larger labor pool.
